Native Files

Native files can be imported into ReadySuite with the Import Native Files wizard.

To import native files

  1. In the ReadySuite ribbon, click External Data > Folder Data > Import Native Files to open the Import Native Files wizard.
  2. On the Import Settings page, enter or select the Data Path for the import.
  3. Select the Overwrite Mode to indicate how native files are created and/or uploaded:
    • Create Only: Only allows image native files to be uploaded to the ReadySuite workspace.
    • Overlay Only: Requires native files to match an existing image file in the ReadySuite workspace to be uploaded.
    • Create/Overlay: Enables new native files and those matching an existing image file in the ReadySuite workspace to uploaded.
  4. Select any advanced import settings you want applied.
    • Link Field: Select a field to enable overlaying. By default, the link field is set to DocID* which matches the DocID* column on the Document Grid View. Most useful after an import (merging load files together). The DocID* field always has a value populated in ReadySuite.
    • Duplicates: When enabled, duplicate values are processed, and can be overlaid onto existing records. If a duplicate document identifier value is found reading the import file, and this option is cleared, a warning is logged to identify the duplicate.
    • File Filter: Select how the native files are filtered from the following:
    • Do Not Filter: No filters applied
    • Include Only Below: Import only the native file types listed in the Extension Filters.
    • Exclude Only Below: Import only the native file types not listed in the Extension Filters.
    • File Extensions: Enter the file type by their extension (such as .dll, .exe, or .mso) selected to be included or excluded in the File Filter option.
  5. Click Next.
  6. On the Import Source page, view the folder structure for the imported files and select the folders with the loose files you want to import.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Document Identification page, choose the Numbering Mode and Numbering Schema to identify each imported document.
  9. Click Start.
  10. On the Import Progress page, view the details of the import process.
  11. Note: If warnings exist, Warnings displays the number of instances. Click to view the Event Log for details.

  12. Click Finish.

The imported native files are listed in the Document Grid View.
